DJ Chris Malinchak releases new song ‘Somebody’

On the heels of his 2019 EP “Photograph”, which has racked up over 9.7 million streams on Spotify, NYC based producer, multi-instrumentalist, and DJ Chris Malinchak enter the new decade with ‘Somebody’, out February 21st via Ultra Music.

‘Somebody’ boasts an eclectic blend of soulful rhythms reminiscent of a warm summer night in Ibiza watching the sun go down. For Malinchak, who creates a worldly fusion of jazz, r&b, and electronic, the music is about bringing people together -

“About a year ago, it felt like the right time to make an album. ‘Somebody’ was one of the first songs I made, and this release seems like a proper introduction. It talks about finding that deeper connection we're all looking for in a time when we've never been so connected. It also reminds us to have fun and to take chances. Lots of bass, claps, and Terror Fabulous helps us do it.”

The new single follows Malinchak’s recent headline appearance at Elsewhere in Brooklyn and comes ahead of his record release party at the highly coveted Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles on February 28th. More info can be found here.

Active on the scene for over a decade, Chris shot to fame with 2013 hit single ‘So Good To Me’ which catapulted him into becoming a household name. The track peaked at #2 in the UK Singles charts and has racked up over 53 million hits on YouTube alone. This was followed up by ‘If U Got It’ the following year, a similarly sunkissed dance track that reached #7 in the UK Dance charts.

‘Somebody’ possesses all the attributes necessary to take both charts and dancefloors by storm.

Alternative-Pop singer & songwriter Leanne Tennant unveils song ‘Everspin’

The UK born singer, Leanne Tennant’s latest single ‘Everspin’ was released on February 20th Via LT Records. Leanne has received support from big names such as Rolling Stone, CLASH Magazine, Popdust, AU Review’s Australian Artists Of The Year, BBC Introducing Merseyside, BBC Radio 6’s Tom Robinson, and Mark Riley, KCRW, Amazing Radio’s Charlie Ashcroft, Triple J Unearthed and Double J Radio.

The vocalist grew up in England for a brief time in her childhood before moving to Papua, New Guinea and finally making a home in Australia. Leanne was exposed to varied musical legends by her parents’ influence, including Phil Collins, Paul Simon, Bob Marley, and The Beatles. Once settled in Australia, Leanne learned how to play the guitar, and began a new passion for writing music of her own. She pursued this passion wholeheartedly that she would go on tour with artists as support and a collaborator. A few of these artists include  Cold Chisel, Joel Quartermain (Eskimo Joe), Ash Grunwald, Emma Louise, Keb Mo, and Colin Hay.

‘Everspin’ was inspired by Leanne’s varied emotions that she was going through after one of her tours, which lead her to feel burnout. She elaborates at the end of the tour, “I felt very still, deflated and happy at the same time, watching the busy world spin by.’’ Leanne wrote ‘Everspin’ to explain and express her feelings about that period in time.

Leanne adds, “Everspin is about being stuck in a blur of activity yet you still appear to be standing still,” says Leanne, “It's about putting in all your efforts to be seen and heard yet those efforts continue to go unnoticed. Stuck in the noise. It was inspired by how I was feeling at the time about the music industry and how difficult it is to earn a living as an artist.”

Alt-pop supergroup HAUNTER releases a new song & video ‘Love You Better’

Houston based rising star pop act HAUNTER traces their roots back to 2016. Originally a studio project helmed by Enoma Asowata (guitar, synth), the band quickly evolved into a 4 piece featuring tour-de-force vocalist Lucy Lenoire, bassist Mark Schroeder and multi-instrumentalist Mike Ray. Under the tutelage of Grammy-nominated producer & musician Tyler Smyth (I Prevail, member of Dangerkids), the band honed in on a radio-friendly sound that meshes their individual influences (emo, metal, Warped Tour..you get the vibe) with a pop sensibility and style that will be familiar to fans of groups like Imagine Dragons, Chvrches, Ellie Goulding and The Chainsmokers.

‘Love You Better’ showcases the group’s musicality & commitment to writing catchy, accessible tunes that don't lose their authenticity despite a broad appeal. Lenoire's vocal performance soars over an electronic laden showcase of guitar & synth chops from Asowata and Ray, with a driving and dynamic bass performance from Schroeder providing a sturdy foundation

King Charles announces new album “Out Of My Mind'” and UK Tour

King Charles has announced that his new album will be titled “Out Of My Mind” and is due for release this April 17th. The album expresses his journey of recovery to mental and physical health and is a collection of soulful and eclectic songs that portray Charles’ flamboyant personality and showcases a fascinating reinvention of King Charles. His full recovery since his serious ski accident in 2010 has made way for a collection of soul searching songs and proved his determination and strength of will. Charles snuck a mini-synth into the hospital and wrote some of the albums whilst there until he was fully discharged in 2018.

The diverse collection of sounds in “Out Of My Mind” span everything from desire to depression. While its topics can be heavy, the album’s most striking strength is its energy.

As Charles explains, “I started exploring new energy with this record that reflected the changes in how I felt since I wrote my last album.  Life was running at a different tempo, and the different cities I found myself in largely contributed to setting a new pace.  I wanted to challenge myself as an artist and a singer to see what I was capable of.”

To support the new album, he will also perform a string of UK Headline dates and festivals this May (see full dates below as well as full album tracklisting). King Charles has spent the last year reconnecting with fans by dropping a series of tracks which push his sound into bold new directions. ‘Out Of My Mind’ will be his third collection of songs after “Loveblood”(2012) and “Gamble for a Rose”(2016).

The London-based musician kick-started his comeback with ‘Deeper Love’, a sensual soul strut, in which King Charles’ flamboyant falsetto flies above his newfound funk-fuelled groove. It explores modern love in 2019 and the track was supported by the likes of Lauren Laverne, Cerys Matthews and John Kennedy. ‘Melancholy Julia’ then puts a fresh twist on his ability to craft beautiful melodies with assertive hooks, before ‘Money is God’ took a leap into the unexpected. Addressing culture’s dominant driving factor, ‘Money is God’ used trap’s core characteristics as the launchpad for something altogether more theatrical.

The tracks give a taste of what to expect from the new album. Touring the States in the midst of Trump’s presidential campaign, Charles was fascinated by the polarity that the future POTUS inspired. It resulted in Charles returning to New York, his aim is to record a calypso album. NYC’s bleak winter, however, didn’t fit that mood and instead, he reunited with the Grammy-nominated producer Matthew Wilder as he experimented with new ideas in Los Angeles and London.

King Charles UK Tour Dates;

3rd May - Newcastle, Hit the North
4th May - Glasgow, Classic Grand
5th May - Birmingham, Castle & Falcon
6th May - Nottingham, Glee Club
7th May - Bristol, Thekla
12th May – Cambridge, The Portland Arms
13th May – London, Omeara

Music producer Yuksek unveils new song 'Into The Light'

French DJ and producer Yuksek kicks off 2020 with a new single, ‘Into The Light’, featuring Isaac Delusion, out today via Sweat It Out / Partyfine.

Breezy, carefree disco delivered with the dancefloor in mind, ‘Into The Light’ is dance music crafted with that unmistakable ‘French Touch’. A nod to Disco icon Sylvester, who Yuksek notes as a direct influence in his music, ‘Into The Light’ features fellow French artist Isaac Delusion’s soaring falsetto vocals lending the track an added air of sensuality. It follows on from last year’s ‘G.F.Y.’ ft. Queen Rose, an anthemic disco cut all about female empowerment. Both singles will feature on “NOSSO RITMO”, Yuksek’s latest album set for release on 28th February.

The result of three years of experimentation and collaboration for no other purpose than shared pleasure, “NOSSO RITMO” marks a turning point in the story of Yuksek, that of independence and letting go.

Releasing music since 2002, Yuksek has since grown into one of the most respected artists in the French electronic scene, collaborating with high-profile figures such as JD Samson, Gorillaz, Phoenix, UGOD, Lana Del Rey, Boston Bun, Moby, Brodinski, The Magician and Alex Metric.

A sensual, dancefloor-focused disco-house jam, ‘Into The Light’ sees Yuksek start the new decade in the best way possible.
